Joint Guidelines on the Interplay between the Digital Markets Act and the General Data Protection Regulation

The joint guidelines address how the DMA and GDPR should be applied in a complementary and coherent manner, published for public consultation which closed on 4 December 2025. They cover the overlaps between the two frameworks in areas including consent requirements, data portability, and interoperability obligations for designated gatekeepers, clarifying that compliance with one regulation does not automatically ensure compliance with the other.
